GP Trainee Recruitment: Essential Documentation

The following headings contain details of the supporting documentation required to prove your eligibility for the GP training recruitment process.

  • Certificate of registration with IMC (current interns) Or Certificate of experience from IMC or previous intern registration certificate (completed internship in Ireland)

    Or Copy of primary medical qualification from one of the listed EU Countries

    Or Current or previous certificate of registration from IMC in the General or Trainee Specialist Division

    Or Email/letter from Irish Medical Council confirming eligibility (only for doctors that cannot provide one of the above forms of confirmation).

  • Evidence of Registration (in any division) with the Medical Council in Ireland prior to 1 January 2015.

    Or Medical Degree completed in entirety in Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom or United States 

    Or English language certificate (does not have to be dated within 2 years of application but is required to meet the minimum scoring as outlined here)
    and provision of current/previous HSE employment post as Medical Doctor on the application form.

    Or Irish Leaving Certificate/A level certificate and Medical Degree and Confirmation that medical degree was taught/examined solely through English 

    Or IELTS (International English Language Testing System Academic Test) Certificate or OET (Occupational English Test), completed within two years of application,

  • Colour scanned copy of passport.The colour copy submitted must be legible and include the passport identity page or National Identity Card.

  • PDF copy of medical degree

  • Your own photo

  • Certificate confirming Foundation Year 1 and Year 2

  • PDF of STAMP4 Card
